Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department to Host Dedication of New Courtesy Boat Dock and Swimming Pool at Lake Murray Lodge

ARDMORE, OK — The Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department will host a dedication of the new courtesy boat dock at Lake Murray Lodge at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12. Participating in the ceremony will be Gov. Bill Anoatubby of the Chickasaw Nation, Senator Frank Simpson (R-Ardmore) and Rep. Tommy Hardin (R-Madill).

The newly constructed dock is located on the east side of the lodge between the lobby and the Blue Heron Restaurant.

Funding for the construction of the courtesy dock was provided by a partnership between the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department and the Chickasaw Nation.

In addition to the new boat dock, the lodge’s swimming pool has been remodeled and a splash pad has been added. Both will be featured at the dedication. The dock and pool are included in Phase 1 of new construction at Lake Murray State Park and Lodge.

The courtesy boat dock features tie-ups for 14 boats and smaller tie-ups for personal watercraft. The dock is lighted at night and is accessible for the physically disabled.

The swimming pool and splash pad features a giant water bucket waterfall, 2 slides, a pool house with vending machines, restrooms with a changing area and 3 shaded areas. The sloped entry to the swimming pool offers primary means of access for the physically disabled and ambulatory users.
