Administrative Rules
OTRD’s current rules took effect November 1, 2024. For more information on rulemaking actions by OTRD, see the OTRD Rulemaking Actions section below.
OTRD’s administrative rules have the effect of law. Administrative rules can be emergency rules or permanent rules.
Emergency rules are promulgated in limited circumstances pursuant to 75 O.S. § 253.
The permanent rulemaking process is governed by 75 O.S. § 303 and requires public comment opportunities as well as review and approval by the State Legislature and Governor.
Current Rulemaking Actions
OTRD submitted proposed permanent rules on December 16, 2024 for OAC 725:30.
OTRD submitted a Fee Report pursuant to 74 O.S. § 3117.
A Rule Impact Statement will be available here on and after December 30, 2024.
The written public comment period for OTRD’s proposed permanent rules begins December 16, 2024 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025. Public comments may be submitted to Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, 123 Robert S Kerr Avenue, Suite 910, Oklahoma City, OK 73012, Attn: Garrett Sill or by email to Garrett.Sill@TravelOK.com.
In-person comments will be received during a public meeting at 10:00 a.m. on January 16, 2025, at the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, 123 Robert S Kerr Avenue, Auditorium, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. Anyone who wishes to speak must sign in at the door by 10:10 a.m.
