Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department Announces Grant Opportunities for Recreation and Conservation
Grant applications for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Recreational Trails Program are now available through the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department.
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department announced Tuesday that it is now accepting applications for grant funding through the Recreational Trails Program and the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The Recreational Trail Program provides matching grants to state park facilities and local governments for the development and/or renovation of public outdoor recreational trails and trail amenities. The program is intended to create opportunities and to develop and maintain recreational trails throughout the state.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund is a federal assistance program administered by the National Park Service at the federal level. The NPS provides the fund matching grants to the states, and through the states to local governments, for the acquisition and development of public outdoor recreation areas and facilities.
Grant applications can be found at OTRD.TravelOK.com/about-otrd/get-involved/. The Land and Water Conservation Fund applications are due by Sept. 30, 2022, and Recreational Trail Program applications are due by Jan. 31, 2023.
