Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department Releases
‘Oklahoma State Parks Soundscapes with Music’ Album

Twelve tracks highlight sounds from Oklahoma State Parks accompanied by instrumentals.

OKLAHOMA CITY — July is national Park and Recreation Month, and the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department is celebrating with the release of “Oklahoma State Parks Soundscapes with Music,” a free downloadable album featuring ambient sounds from 12 Oklahoma State Parks accompanied by instrumental music.

The album is available free for download at TravelOK.com/Soundscapes. It is also streaming on 32 platforms, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Google Play Music, iHeart Radio, Pandora and Spotify. A full list of services is available below.

“For many of us, the sounds of the Oklahoma State Parks bring back so many happy memories,” said Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell, who is also the state’s Secretary of Tourism & Branding. “These albums give us a way to relax and enjoy those sounds when we can’t make it out to the parks, whether we’re at the office or at home or in our cars.”

This is the second Oklahoma State Parks Soundscapes album released by OTRD and the first to include music accompanying the sounds.

This release also includes a set of YouTube videos that feature each track of the album accompanied by scenic video footage and images from each park. The videos are available on the TravelOK YouTube channel at YouTube.com/TravelOK.

“This album and the videos are a wonderful way to de-stress and spend a few minutes taking in Oklahoma’s natural wonders,” said Oklahoma State Parks Director Kris Marek. “Spending time at the Oklahoma State Parks can be such a calming and fulfilling experience, but if you can’t make it out to one, this is a way to get a little bit of that experience wherever you are.”

The park sounds were recorded during the fall filming season by Broken Arrow-based Retrospec Films.
